Because many people had asked, I prepared my bio for the first anniversary (Jan/07) of my raw potlucks.

This is what led me to start the potlucks and eat predominately raw... My food allergies and Candida led me to change my diet about eleven years ago.  I went home and threw out or gave away all my packaged foods and anything that I was allergic to or could not eat because of Candida.   That throwing out would be the first time of many "cleansings"" of my refrigerator and cupboards... After the initial, overwhelming feeling of "what can I eat?" .  I started reading everything in sight on health and nutrition and taking numerous cooking classes... I then moved on in my eating journey to macrobiotic within my allergy limitations, to becoming a vegetarian and then about five years ago I started my raw journey.  The progression really just happened.  I didn't decide one day "oh I am now going to go macrobiotic"...it just evolved.

By day, I am a packaging sales rep.  and have been in the packaging world since my second job out of college in 1979... My first degree is in business but because health and nutrition have become my passion,  I acquired a certification as a Holistic Health Care Practitioner from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in Manhattan,, NY... I am also an associate certified raw chef and instructor from the Living Light Institute of Raw Foods.  Even though I took so many classes through the years I waned to get more knowledge, plus I knew the world is interested in the number of degrees and certifications vs. practical experience.

Fall of 2005 I felt like there was a need to start a monthly raw potluck  in my home and in Jan. 2006 I started my first  raw potluck in my home with the attendance of 46 people... People have come to my Potlucks from as far away as New York,, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and the western part of Pennsylvania... In one year we have attracted world renowned speakers such as Dr. Douglas Graham of FoodNSport and Dr. Brian Clement, Hippocrates... Even Carol Alt, super model, actress,   and raw foodist will be using some of the recipes from some of  my potluckers (including one of mine) in her new raw Cookbook which is to be released July 3, 2007 and we are hosting a family raw expo featuring Ms. Carol Alt and her new book "The Raw 50" on July 28th, 2007 at Victory Park, Royersford, Pennsylvania.  Please see my website for details.

This should tell you where I started and where I am headed... Once you heal your body and stop being so sick that you can barely make it through the day you can work on your emotional side and then on to the spiritual... That is why, what you put in your mouth and how you live your life is so important...

Instead of just existing my goal for myself  and others is to "Live Dynamically"...

As a result of her passion and quest for knowledge today she is a certified Holistic Health Care Practitioner, certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York, NY. Lisa graduated from the Living Light Culinary Institute as an Associate/Chef Instructor, Ft. Bragg, CA and received a Raw Chef Mastery Certification from Raw Chef Dan, Quintessence, New York, NY.
